Understand recurring membership and package billing
Know what triggers a cycle and what signing or payment failure does not prove.
Recurring terms are saved
Membership enrollments capture the customer’s cycle, first charge date, allowance, price and consent. Recurring packages use their applicable saved billing terms. Catalog edits must not silently change signed agreements or already-purchased terms. A calendar month and a 28-day cycle are different schedules.
Review billing state
- Open the client’s enrollment and inspect start, next charge and verification status.
- Confirm the connected payment account is ready and the required card/consent is present.
- Review actual invoices and payment results, not just future projections.
- Use owner payment-status/recovery controls when offered, rather than creating duplicate charges.
- After a freeze or cancellation, verify the updated billing dates and status.
Failed payments and access
An agreement or attempted payment is not proof of successful collection. Paid cycle entitlement is fulfilled only from the verified payment result. Automatic card billing depends on the connected account and saved-card readiness. Approving a freeze pauses billing/access; cancellation stops applicable future charges while preserving paid-through rights.
