Connect Twilio for private messages and challenge chats
Configure primary and dedicated challenge numbers without sharing credentials or overriding consent.

Connect your primary account
- Open Settings → Communication → Twilio SMS.
- Copy Account SID and Auth Token from the same Twilio account that owns your SMS-capable number.
- Enter Country Code, Exchange and Last 4. For +1 201 555 0123, use +1, 201555 and 0123.
- Connect Twilio; when replacing a connection, review and acknowledge the warning.
- Enable SMS Pumping Protection, restrict SMS Geo Permissions and complete required sender registration in Twilio.
Connect a unique challenge number
Buy a second SMS-capable Twilio number in the same account. Under Unique Twilio Number for Challenge Chat, enter the same three number parts and connect it after the primary account is ready. It must differ from your private-message number; Twilio bills for both the number and messages.
Consent and forwarding
Credentials are encrypted after saving. Document SMS permission on the contact and respect STOP. SMS forwarding and portal-message forwarding have independent switches but share the instructor’s destination cell. An alert on your phone is not a client read receipt. Test reply routing and opt-outs with your team before advertising.
